NCAA Men’s Basketball Predictions

A lot of experts will have their say on who will win the coveted NCAA championship. Sixty-five teams will battle for the honor of being crowned champs in early April. A host of analysts and experts will have their predictions for who will make it all the way to the final four. Sports writers can be found in a variety of media. Many of them will have their own column in a newspaper. Here they will analyze the teams performance over the course of the regular season and then use that information to assess their chances in the NCAA tourney. Some sports writers may even go as far as to fill in their bracket for the tournament.

This gives an important visual aid in determining how they think the teams will progress over the course of the three weeks. It is very important to note that the reader get as much information as he or she can about each individual team before they begin to fill out their own bracket.

Most analysts will decide on the chances of a particular team by looking at their regular season record. The regular season record is the most important deciding factor in determining the strength, quality, and potential of a team. Another thing that the sports writer may look at is the strength of schedule for each team. Some of the teams in the NCAA tourney may have a solid win-loss record but come from weaker divisions where the competition is not as strong as it is in the ACC or some other division. In this case, the team is more likely to get a lower seed than one that has lost a few games but plays in a stronger division. Writers may also look at whether or not the team has lost any important and influential players due to injury over the course of the regular season. If a important player has a slight knock and cannot perform as well when fully fit, then this will have an adverse affect on the team as a whole and could result in a lower seed or, in the worst case scenario, be written off by writers as having little to no chance of making to the final four. As with any predictions, all must be taken with a grain of salt. You have to take a strong, hard look at all the information that is available to you and then based on that make a decision for yourself.
