The Portland Trail Blazers seem to be known primarily for two things; their horrible luck in the draft and their 1977 NBA championship team. While that statement is in fact false and the team has a number of other positive attributes including such famous standout names as Clyde Drexler, the facts remain that this is a team with a horrible bad streak of luck. The Portland Trail Blazers have done quite a nod off in the last several years and it is a fact that their luck seems poised to take a turn for the better. After cleaning out their closet and putting their recent #1 draft pick Marcus Oden on the operating table for knee surgery, it seems that the fates must be needing to give them a second shot at a better lot in their NBA lifetime. If you are a fan in the Oregon area, you’d better hope that this is in fact true.

The Portland Trail Blazers team has had a fairly good team overall; they’ve won their championship in 1977 and had placed in numerous finals for many years following that time. This was mostly due to the fact of their long standing star, Clyde Drexler and their standout coach Dr Jack Ramsay; while others have passed through the organization during their tenures in Portland, it can’t be denied that these two standouts were indeed owed a great deal of the teams success.
